Trading, Breeding and Battling - Link Cable
Tips on Usage: This section will detail how to use the link cable to trade, breed, and battle you monsters with other players. This section is based on information from Enix
Here’s a list of some of the things you can do over the link cable (most of these functions are activated at the main menu when you turn on the game):
Breeding – Breed with a friend’s monster. If the monsters are compatible, they’ll lay an egg. Both you and your friend will each receive your own egg that you can hatch at the Starry Shrine.
Key Trade – If your friend finds a Magic Key in his or her game, you can exchange Keys.
VS Mode – Versus mode allows you to pit your team of monsters against a friend’s monsters. You can play just for fun, or you can choose a monster as a prize. If you, lose, you must give your monster to your opponent. This is also how you trade monsters (by purposely loosing matches to each other with monsters as the prize)
Dream Egg – If you’re a very skilled (or lucky) Monster Master, you may find a Dream Egg somewhere in the world of Dragon Warrior Monsters 2. To make a Dream Egg hatch, you need to give items to the Egg and trade it with friends many times. The Dream Egg option allows you to trade Dream Eggs.
Team Mode – Team mode lets you team up with a friend to fight against progressively more difficult computer opponents. After defeating a sufficient number of opponent teams, you and your friend will receive useful prizes!
