How do I use the DWM Skills Section?

The DWM Central Skills Section is broken up into 3 Main groups:
  • The Full List shows all the skills with short descriptions, and the Monster List shows what monsters learn each skill.
  • The Offensive, Defensive, and Miscellaneous skills sections break down the skills into attack skills, non-attack combat skills, and skills that are used outside of battle.
  • The Combining Section shows how you can get skills through the combination of other skills.
The Full List can be used as a menu for all the skills, since each entry links to the detailed entry in either the Offensive, Defensive, or Miscellaneous Section.

How do my Skills Evolve?

When your monster first gains a skills, it will usually be at its base level. Many of the skills can evolve to become stronger, as your monster's stats increase. To find out what stats are needed for each evolution, look for the skills in their respective detailed skills section.

What are Skills?

Whenever you are in battle, your monster will either attack, defend, or use a skill (see the Gameplay Basics Section for a more in-depth explanation of this). Skills are techniques that will use Magic Points (MP) to attack, heal, or do some other effect.
Your monster can keep up to 8 of these at a time. They can be either natural to the monster, inherited from parents, or recalled through skills combining. Upon getting the required stats, the monster will learn one of their skills. If the monster already has 8, it will be given the option to either learn the new skill (and forget an old one) or discard the new one.

What are my monster's Natural Skills?

Every monster inherently gets 3 Natural Skills, regardless of those it got from its parents. These skills can be forgotten like any other skills, but do not need to be with the monster in order for them to be passed to its offspring. For example, if a hypothetical monster forgot all three of its Natural Skills and learned 8 other skills, it could pass down 11 skills! Only inheritted Skills must be learned in order for them to beppassed down.

How does my Monster Inherit its Parents' Skills?

During breeding, each parent will pass on the 8 Skills they currently know, and their 3 natural skills. Skills that are not Natural must be learned and kept as one of the 8 in order for them to be passed to offspring.

How do I Combine Skills?

Some of the more powerful skills do not have to be bred into monsters. By combining certain skills, monsters will "recall" the more powerful skill. For a list of what skills you can get this way (and the skills you need to combine) go to the Combining.
Keep in mind that all the skills need to be on the monster (and in all cases, at their most evolved level) in order for the combination to work. In addition, the monster needs the stats to gain the new skill.

How do I design breeding strategies to get certain skills?

For more hints on how design breeding strategies, look to the Breeding Tips Section.
