The game will come in 2 flavors - Cobi's Journey and Tara's Adventure (with a boy and a girl as the main characters, respectively). There will be distinct differences between both versions.
As far as monsters go, it is believed that both versions will have all monsters. However they will appear with different frequency in each version. As Cobi is thought to be the big tough brother, and Tara is the thinker, we believe that Cobi's version will have more offensive monsters and Tara's will have more defensive ones.
The main difference will be access to the gates. From what we understand, different sets of keys will be available in the two versions. These keys open the gates, and can be traded via the link cable. These keys, when transferred, will be able to unlock new gates to explore!
