Concentration is a rather simple memory game. A pile of cards with duplicate images are mixed up and layed picture side down. The player then picks up two cards and tries to make a "match". If no match is made, the cards are put back and the player tries again. If the player does make a match then the cards are taken away and they reveal part of a "prize" picture. Or at least that's how it is played on the game shows.

I originally adapted the game into a perl CGI script for the Texas A&M National Agriculture Week web site. I then added some more features (including a high score list) and have released the game under the GPL. The current release is 0.2, and I plan to make a 0.3 release based on user feedback I have received. If you use this game, send me a link so I can add it to the list and let me know what you think!

Working Examples:

Version History

  • 0.2 - Top ten list; skin file; lots of internal changes.
  • 0.1 - Original release for Ag Week.

Downloads

  • concentration.tar.gz - A ready to run archive of the concentration game with all the graphics set up. (If you want to try it out without making all your own graphics.)
  • concentration.zip - The oft requested zip'd archive.
